Flow Yin Slow Flow Gentle Yoga Mums & Bubs Prenatal / Pregnancy Yoga for Beginners Yoga~Pilates Restorative
Michelle always knew something was missing from her life, although she could only sense the edges of the void, not what would fill it. Through global adventures in her early 20s, she discovered yoga 25 yrs ago, and knew within a few short sessions, that she had found her path. Her lessons have taken her all over the world, and through her practice she learned and studied numerous yoga “styles” under many renowned yoga 'guru’s'. Eventually, her practice brought her full circle, back to a love of the beginner’s journey, and a commitment to ego-free practice. Poses made for bodies, rather than bodies fit into poses.

Michelle is passionately dedicated to an open community, embracing all, no matter their forms, or paths;

"I started Engadine Yoga in Dec 2019 because I wanted to create a space where people could actually feel the acceptance, feel the warmth of the space, and feel the freedom from judgement… My main goal is to share the tools of compassion and empathy. Yoga is a tool that teaches us to respond, rather than to react.

Let’s continue to build bridges from heart to heart. I look forward to welcoming you to the studio and onto your mat".

Yin

Aka the yoga of surrender, based on the ancient wisdom traditions of yoga, acupuncture and Taoism. A practice that brings you back to yourself. It slows you down and calms the nervous system while it is deeply stimulating for your body and mind.

In Yin Yoga we are there to be with what is. It is ‘not to go anywhere’. We address the deeper spiritual dimensions of yoga, with time and space for breathing exercises, mindfulness and meditation, supporting a balanced approach to physical and mental health.

The practice consists of long held ground postures (usually 3-5 minutes), to stimulate and balance the flow of chi (energy) in the connective tissues of the body. We come into a posture slowly and put the body under temporary distress. We find an appropriate edge, where the body can be for a while. We do less physically and stay longer.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), winter is the season of the Water element, representing deep rest, introspection, and the conservation of your foundational energy (Jing). A winter Yin Yoga focus targets the Kidney and Urinary Bladder meridians to replenish vitality, reduce winter fatigue, and build emotional resilience.
